World T’ai Chi Day 2009 was celebrated 25th April 2009
On this day for over a decade, T’ai Chi events have been held around the world. Starting at dawn in New Zealand and finishing 24 hours later in Hawaii, it creates a healing wave that circles the globe.
Crystal T’ai Chi held two small events. A morning workshop was held in Longhope to
offer a chance for any member of our groups who had been learning “Moving Stillness”
Fan 52 form to meet to polish and extend the form together. This form was taught
to me by Sifu Dan Jones in the US. The group were taught the most difficult remaining
10 forms and completed all 52 together for the first time. As far as I am aware they
are the first group in the UK to complete this Form.
Later our elderly regulars who
are residents at Hazelhurst Nursing Care Home showed that despite many age related
disabilities, they were still able to enjoy Tai Chi and even perform their own version
of a fan form.
